i’m nano, wandering through life between tokyo and elsewhere—endlessly fascinated by signs, visual or otherwise, and by how they quietly construct, reinforce, and sometimes unsettle what feels natural, normal, or taken for granted, as well as bend or undo those assumptions.

through making, researching, and developing things, i follow curiosity seriously, finding joy in thinking, building, and staying with questions that refuse easy answers.

1. attention

i pay close attention to images, language, and the assumptions quietly embedded in them. attention, for me, is a way of noticing where norms take shape—and where they might begin to loosen.

2. listening

i try to listen carefully, especially when perspectives unsettle my own. taking others seriously—and allowing my thinking to shift—is central to how i work and live.

3. resistance

i resist ideas that seek comfort through silence or easy agreement. resistance here is not refusal for its own sake, but a commitment to staying with difference and discomfort.

4. curiosity

curiosity is my baseline, not a tool. i follow it seriously, finding joy in thinking, making, and imagining things otherwise.
